West Palm Beach Sex Crimes Defense

Sex-offense cases from West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Jupiter and the rest of Palm Beach County are prosecuted in Florida's Fifteenth Judicial Circuit. The circuit's main courthouse is the Judge Daniel T. K. Hurley Courthouse, 205 N. Dixie Highway, in West Palm Beach.

The Fifteenth Circuit State Attorney's Office has a Special Victims Unit that handles adult and child sexual-violence cases, which means these cases are typically handled by prosecutors who focus on them. People arrested in the county are generally booked at the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Main Detention Center, 3228 Gun Club Road. Under Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.130, an arrested person must see a judge within 24 hours.

Chad Seibel is a former Florida prosecutor (Assistant State Attorney, Ninth Judicial Circuit, 2013–2016) who now defends people charged with serious felonies across Florida. His office is in Kissimmee, and consultations and meetings can be arranged in West Palm Beach by appointment.

If you have been contacted by detectives

Do not agree to an interview, a "controlled" phone call or a polygraph without a lawyer. Many sex-offense cases are built on statements made before an arrest. Say "I want a lawyer" and stop answering questions.

Pretrial Services and first appearance

Palm Beach County's Pretrial Services Program interviews people held in jail before their First Appearance Court hearing and provides verified information to the judge, who uses it in deciding bond and Public Defender eligibility. The program's Supervision Unit oversees people released from jail while their cases are pending. The State Attorney's Office handles first appearances from its branch in the jail building at the Criminal Justice Complex on Gun Club Road.

Looking up a Palm Beach County case

The Palm Beach County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller runs eCaseView, which lets anyone search civil, criminal and traffic cases by name without registering, and view and print case documents; sealed cases are not viewable. For booking information, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office lists its Inmate Records line as (561) 688-4340.
