Naples Sex Crimes Defense

Naples and the rest of Collier County are part of Florida's Twentieth Judicial Circuit, which also covers Charlotte, Glades, Hendry and Lee counties. Felony cases from Collier County are heard at the Collier County Courthouse, 3315 Tamiami Trail East, in Naples.

The Twentieth Circuit State Attorney's Office has a Special Victims Unit, which it describes as handling crimes against victims such as children and the elderly. People arrested in Collier County are generally held at the Naples Jail, 3347 Tamiami Trail East, next to the courthouse complex. Under Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.130, an arrested person must see a judge within 24 hours, and in a sex-offense case that hearing usually sets bond and no-contact conditions.

Chad Seibel is a former Florida prosecutor (Assistant State Attorney, Ninth Judicial Circuit, 2013–2016) who now defends people charged with serious felonies across Florida. His office is in Kissimmee, and consultations and meetings can be arranged in Naples by appointment.

If you have been contacted by detectives

Do not agree to an interview, a "controlled" phone call or a polygraph without a lawyer. Many sex-offense cases are built on statements made before an arrest. Say "I want a lawyer" and stop answering questions.

Pretrial Supervision in Collier County

The Collier County Sheriff's Office runs a Pretrial Supervision program that allows people who qualify, and whom a judge orders into the program, to be released from custody as a condition of bond or without paying a monetary bail. Participants must follow every release condition set at first appearance.

Looking up a Collier County case

The Collier County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller offers an Online Court Case Search covering civil, criminal, probate and traffic cases; public view does not require registration. For an inmate's court date, release date or bonding information, the Collier County Sheriff's Office directs callers to the Naples Jail Center at 239-252-9504. The Sheriff's Office also operates the Immokalee Jail Center, 302 Stockade Road.
